Blast from the Past
What were you doing in 1973?
I was jumping this ramp with my brand new orange metalflake Schwinn.

Tree Blooms!
There’s a tree in my yard that only blooms for about 2 weeks each year. After that, the flowers fall off like snow. It’s real pretty.

The Great Escape!
Here is another character that finally managed to escaped the flat pages of my sketchbook!

First Day of Sculpting
My friend Gabriel Marquez will be doing the sculpt. I’m pretty new to sculpting but he’s an old pro at it!
Here is the initial armature he made when I got to his studio.

The legs and tail were cut to size.

Tin foil was added to bulk out the body area.

Clay was added to bulk out the body.

More clay.

The clay was smoothed out a bit more.

41st Birthday
I want to thank everyone who made my birthday a lot of fun! I took the day off and hung out with my son most of the day. We got him some new shoes and walked around downtown.
The throwing axe I ordered came in today and I should get a few new throwing knives and an axe from Joe Darrah on Monday.
Dezzy Dez
Great time! Bad Photo!!
They were playing Style Wars tonight at the Museum of Fine Art and DJ Kayslay (Dez) was there for the showing.
I took my son to check out the movie on the big screen and to meet Dezzy Dez. Dez was real friendly and caught a tag in my blackbook. I took this pic but as I waited for the flash to cycle, the guest speaker, Bun B, started to talk and Dez looked up. To make the photo worse, I cropped the top of my son’s head off!
Anyway, I had a blast and so did my son. Every time Dez came on the screen, my son said “Hey dad!, there’s Dezzy Dez!”.

Honeycreeper Logo/T-shirt
This is a logo/T-shirt design for the band Honeycreeper. From the HC website
HC is a dirty, nasty, sexy, sweaty, high-energy rock band that’s funky as hell. This stock is seasoned liberally with punk and ska, and even a little hip-hop, metal, tribal, and reggae.

Combat Knife
I was asked to come up with a custom fighting knife. My initial design is based on a Kukri knife which was part of the regimental weaponry and heraldry of Gurkha fighters. I added a skull crusher and redid the blade shape.

Truck Painting
I was asked to help my friend paint a truck for his friend. I took my son along and he had fun throwing rocks around.

Car Sketches
Here are a few car sketches I made. I drew the original image with a bic pen, then scanned it and colored them in Photoshop.

Nirmala Concept Car
I did the layout and Jonathan Mahieddine did the car concept/illustrations.
I made the text have a definite hierarchy and made the illustrators name/logo stand out on the bottom. The colored tab/line at the top would be for the titles. The right side would be for the name and company logo.
The colored dash on the right side just brings your eye down into the bottom where the illustrators name is. I kept the right side of the image white so that the viewers eye can flow down the white space and added a marker swoosh behind the sketches to tie them all together.
By keeping all the graphics simple and clean, I gave the page a more regal look.

Bond
I had some free time so I decided to redesign the James Bond ID card. The bottom right image shows how it would look in the ID scanner. There’s a bio chip that you need to have your finger on.

Warriors
I saw the original jacket at Comicon last year and took some picks. I loved the logo so I decided to make a J6Studios version. I changes the skull up but kept the rest pretty close to the original.

Obi Wan Saber Shirt
No it’s not a vibrator or a saxaphone! It’s The famous lightsaber of Obiwan Kenobi!

Book Spread
This piece is from a series of images that are self initiated.
I started to make collaged images of places I remember from my youth and my traveling.
This one is called “N”. It’s about New York. We used to go there when I was really young. The layout was inspired by the subway maps. I used 1 image from the “M” piece because these 2 pieces are related since they both deal with my time in the Northeastern U.S.
I wanted to add my recollections and the myth that my mind created about the place, then juxtapose that with modern images from recent trips and experiences I had.

A + P
I was asked to come up with a logo for the UK based design company: Accept & Proceed for an ongoing side project they are doing.
Aside from using only back / white / greyscale and representing an A&P in some way, there was no brief.

Mauj
Logo for a Pakistani band named Mauj. They are a 4 piece band from Texas. Mauj means wave, and I tried to convey that in the calligraphy.

3D Turnaround
It still has some modifications that need to be done but here’s what I have so far.

I got it featured on VinylPulse.com
Painting
I was commissioned to do a painting for Steelouettes. A local Metalsmith.

Spraypaint on masonite.
