Red Bull and The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art<br />
Opening reception Saturday, May 30, 7pm &#8211; 11pm. </p>
<p>Over the Art Car weekend Red Bull with help from the Orange Show found seven street artists to paint seven car hoods. They were on display at Discovery Green and now you will have a chance to view (and purchase) them in our outside Gallery this weekend.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Dacosta! a.k.a CHOCOLATE SOOP and the <a href="http://www.janm.org/exhibits/dreams-to-dreams/">Japanese American National Museum</a> have assembled the first custom toy show held in a museum. 45+ artists have customized his DCTO (Dreams Come True Object) Jibun Project, a futuristic version of the traditional Daruma toy. The theme of the show is &#8220;Dreams to Dreams&#8221; and is based on the poem of the same title which speaks to childhood dreams, possibilities and looking to the future.</p>
<p>The finished art pieces will be on display at the Japanese American National Museum from December 1, 2008 through January 4, 2009. Pieces will be available for sale through the Museum Store.</p>
<p>*Opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2008</p>
<p>The show will lead up to Oshogatsu weekend (a significant celebration in Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo area). there will be educational and entertaining programs that tell the significance of Daruma and other cultural icons for the New Year.</p>

<p>Custom bears, custom bunnies&#8230;  All well and good.  But, what ever happened to the &#8216;urban&#8217; element&#8230;?  Derailed brings it all back with a group show featuring customized All City Style subway trains.  The show opens on May 2nd 2008 @ Cardboard Spaceship in Santa Cruz with a talented and diverse lineup.</p>

This exciting group show will feature artists manifesting into visuals what words sometimes fail to convey. Glimpses of each artists&#8217; own life stories are told through the magic of paper, canvas, paint, vinyl, and more&#8230;.</p>
<p>Here is my piece for the show. I supplied the artwork and Kurt Barbee at <a href="http://www.5280lasers.com/">5280Laser</a> did the cutting and assembly.</p>

<p>This show features over 50 artists customizing a pair of Toy2R Bunee Angel &#038; Devil Baby Qees and selected artwork with the theme of love/hate.  There will be a silent auction that will end at 10PM on Saturday.</p>
