Throwing Knife Design
So I watched the show intro today and found an image of a knife. I assume this is one of the knives that the teams will use on the show.
The coolest part of it is that I designed that knife!! I was pretty stoked to see it on the screen!
This image from the intro.

Here’s two of the knives which were designed for The King of Fling, Jack Dagger.

Here’s a drawing I did of what the knife would look like with handles etc.

Size compared to hot Asian girl.

Here are some of the prototypes.

Cake Sketches
I did a bunch of cake sketches for the Ace of Cakes book. These weren’t used but I had fun drawing them.
I drew the top 5 designs from pics I was given of the original cakes made by Charm City Cakes. I designed the bottom 9 cakes myself and none of them were ever made into cakes!

3D Ships
Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon sent me a render he made of a ship I designed a few years ago.
It’s pretty cool to see your work in 3D!

Here’s another one he did.

District 9 Gun Concepts 2
Here’s some other sketches I made but they are pretty rough designs.
The original props were designed by Greg Broadmore at Weta Workshops.

District 9 Gun Concept
I wanted to design my own version of the guns so here it is. I tried to keep the same look and feel of the original guns but wanted to make a smaller assault gun.

Ancient Weapons Pages
I was going to do a book of weapons with another Illustrator Ramiel a few years ago. Life and lack of time prevented this from being completed.

The Bug!
A friend of mine (Fat Pat) has a friend who wants a drawing of his car. Here’s a preliminary sketch I made yesterday.

Copying the MASTERS
I have a sketchbook where I draw cartoons from other eras. Here are a few pages.

Great Grandpappy’s Ship Design
As I was rummaging through the family library, I came across this diagram which looks mighty similar to my design.

Sketch 02-NOV-08
I reworked some of my earlier sketches from 13-AUG-08 with the new Sharpie Pen. I fixed some of the perspective problems and colored a few with markers. I added the Car and the 2nd ship. The car is what I remember the Tron lightcycle to look like.

Sketch 20-OCT-08
I did this at breakfast yesterday. This is a variant of the ship I did on the 11th and would be used for different missions. I made the back area fatter and added a few things.

I Xeroxed the original and added some marker

Sketches 11-OCT-08
I did these 2 before I went to bed last night.

This is a clean up of the ship I posted on the 7th.

Sketches 10-OCT-08
I did these last night. The top ones are small, about 2″-3″. The egg shape was inspired by a hand sander. The bottom one was inspired by tractors.

Sketches 07-OCT-08
I did these at lunch today. I wanted to add wings rather than the outcroppings like the last sketches I posted.

Lunchtime Sketches
I did these yesterday at lunch and dinner. I bought some of the new Sharpie Pens and used newsprint to draw on. The Sharpie Pens don’t bleed through the paper like the Ultra-Thin markers do.
I’m still trying to get the hang of the pen. I usually use a Bic pen or Pencil and I can do construction lines easier bit I like the looser sketching and dark lines I can get with these pens.
Double Engine Fighter.

This is based on an Intercom I saw.

Speeder Idea. Nacelles are nice but I might add wings instead.

Side view of the ship above.

Cruiser Idea.

Wacom Practice
Here’s one of the Concept Sketches I did a while back. I scanned in the drawing and colored it with my Wacom Tablet.
