There was a Vans book signing here in Houston and Jace and I were looking forward to meeting Tony Alva and Steve Caballero.
Ever since Jace watched the “Dogtown and Z-Boys” documentary, he’s been a Tony Alva fan. Tony Alva was up there with Evel Knievel and John Wayne as one of my childhood heroes and it was great to finally meet him in person.
Both guys were very kind and we were lucky enough to get this great photo.
Steve Steadham from the 1985 Houston Shut Up and Skate Contest.
Here’s a few pics of Steve Caballero taken after the Babes on Boards Event. Thanks to Lee Leal for letting me borrow his camera!!

These were taken at the First Shut Up and Skate Contest in Houston Texas, 1985. I’ll try to get all of them scanned and make an album of them.
These 3 pics are of Steve Caballero. He was just at the Jamail Skatepark Saturday and I’ll post some of those pics later today.
Little Buddy got some new pads today and began learning to skate!
He did pretty damn good so far! Were hitting the handrails tomorrow!
Clowning around at the skatepark. Thanks to Groovehouse for the photo!
These were all taken from 1985-1989 in Europe.
My tank C-24
4-67 Mess Hall
I took a pic of my self in the stairwell mirror
4-67 Volleyball Champs!
I was looking through some old VHS tapes and found some recordings from the Vagabond Hotel Pool. This was the first real pool I ever skated. I think this was around 1989 or very early 90’s.
We got the Wall-E DVD and got a coupon for a free tree seedling. We received it yesterday so today we went out to plant it!
Little Buddy also got some radish seeds from school and we planted those today. There hard to see but he’s pointing to them. The milkweed is from the Monarch Butterfly Farm!
Here’s a pic from the HFM X-Mas Party. As usual, there was much Kung-Fu treachery! An impossible task I know, but if you can name all of the people and the weapons used in this photo, you will win a special gift! 🙂
Fresh out of the camera!! Here’s the JESTER Family.
One of my sons teachers friends brought his telescopes to my son’s school playground last night and we checked out the moon.
I put my cellphone camera up to the lens and took these.
